意識のサマースクールが無事終了しました！
こんにちは。高槻瞭大です。
「AIが見る世界を理解して、人間とAIが共に生きる未来を実現したい！」にご関心を寄せていただき、ありがとうございます！
先週の金曜日に、西本とともに参加していたQstr-IIT サマースクールが無事終了しました！（https://qualia-structure.jp/news/detail/5077）
特に印象に残っているのは、夕食の席で統合情報理論の提唱者であるGiulio Tononi教授に、自身の研究計画について直接説明する機会を得たことです。私は、自分はAIの解釈を通して意識に関する従来の議論をより洗練化することに特に興味があるのですが、同時にそれは現象的意識について強い主張を取らずに済むアプローチでもあります。Tononi教授には私の研究方向性を理解していただけたものの、途中で投げかけられた「ドナルド・トランプについて中立的であることに何の意味があるだろうか」という一言は強く脳に刻まれました。本サマースクールを通して、既存の機能主義的な意識理論にとらわれず、意識の根本に新しいアプローチで迫ろうとする多様な研究者たちと議論を交わすことができ、自分の興味を再検討する良い契機となりました。
また、二週目の最終発表会では、オープンソースVLMモデルと人間の色クオリア構造を比較する発表を行い、多くの有益なフィードバックを頂けました。本サマースクールは、参加者間での共同研究を強く推奨しているので、今後、今回の成果を何らかの形で発展させアウトプットに繋げられればと思っています。
最後に、本サマースクールの主催者であり、プログラム中にインタビューの機会をくださった、土谷尚嗣さんに深く感謝申し上げます。
