「AIが見る世界を理解して、人間とAIが共に生きる未来を実現したい！」にご関心を寄せていただき、誠にありがとうございます。
今回は、開催間近に迫った、意識のサマースクールについて告知します。私と高槻は、10月5日から17日にかけてイタリアで開催される国際研究会、Qualia Structure - Integrated Information Theory Summer School (Qstr-IIT Summer School) に参加します！ 世界中から選抜された若手研究者とともに、意識の質 (クオリア) という主観的な現象を、どのように科学という客観的な道具で記述するのかについて考える、非常に刺激的なサマースクールです。

西本は、2年連続・2回目の参加で、今回はTAとして従事します！ 昨年は数えきれないほどのアイディアが生まれ、共同研究や勉強会がいくつも発足しました。今年も、心理学、神経科学、哲学、情報学といった異分野の融合によって、新たなコラボレーションが生まれる・生み出せることを期待しています。
本サマースクールのメインは、なんといっても豪華講師陣や参加者どうしとの議論です。今年は、Christof Koch氏、Giulio Tononi氏をはじめとした、意識研究の分野で著名な研究者の方々とも密に議論できる機会があるので、ぜひとも私たちの研究プロジェクトのアイディアをぶつけてみたいです。
